Dish Network is the worst of the lot. They have horrible customer service, they charge for almost anything and everything (like removing programming, ordering via their phone system, etc). Dont sign a contract with them. Their equipment is outdated.
If you think Dish's equipment is outdated, certainly don't try Verizon's FiOS TV. What a horrid excuse for multi-room media. Sure I could record in one room and watch in another, but I couldn't delete or record from the other room. (Of course I could have opted for two DVRs instead, but then I couldn't share at all.) And the response time between button pushes were ridiculous. That was the worst TV week of my life.
