DViCO's TViX HD M-4000SA for up to 1TB of mobile HD video

S.Korea's DViCO just made it a bit easier to take your HD video collection on the road. Meet the ¥27,800 ($229) TViX HD M-4000SA which combines a 3.5-inch SATA disk enclosure with 1080i output. The player pumps WMV HD, MPEG-2TS and DivX HD video and MP3, Ogg Vobis, and WMA audio out a selection of jacks including DVI, component, and S-Video along with optical and coaxial digital audio -- sorry, no HDMI. It even features a USB-host port to quickly suck media from DAPs and digital cameras with Ethernet providing a link back to DViCO's TiVX series of home media servers. Now don't be shy, go ahead and slap in some hot 1TB disk action for all your self-ripped HD DVD or Blu-ray Disc titles. Then get Kerouac and take your mad, beat media on the road.

Too bad it doesn't do h.264...I am still waiting for a device that will do WMV, divx, h.264 and may be .TS streams too....this device came pretty close though.

At 1080p video is great and the sound is really good at 5.1. I have played .dvix, .xvid, WMV, WMV HD, .avi, .m4v, .mp4 and .MOV.

I live in Korea and I just upgraded from the Tvix 5000U to 4100SH. My setup is 2TB NAS (Infrant), 46" Sony LCD and TVIX 4100SH with 320G SATA. The 4100SH with HDMI rocks, but the interface is still something that needs to be updated. They did change the front screen, but if you are looking at the icons in 1080p the icons look a bit griddy. I would love to see an interface like the appleTV but I am not seeing anything from the company on changing the icons or interface yet. I would also like to be able to use video play lists. I would like some way to setup my own icons or hack the interface.
