In fact, fighting the defeat of the DRM is actually bad for the format, it will slow adoption (given the current state of digital media). In fact, the fact that the formats were cracked started to [almost] get me interested in getting a BD-player or HD-DVD player, because at least that way I know I'd be able to rip the content should the format I happen to buy become obselete/non-standard. This format-war is really screwing everyone over.
